I think the whole point of the victim blaming was that the audience knows that the girls are wrong in doing that and also that the truth will come out
That’s the thing though, A LOT of people don’t understand that victim blaming is wrong. People are taught to victim blame and slut shame in our society (i.e. rape culture). When she told Emily and Spencer they first asked if she was drinking and then Aria basically called her a slut as if to say that she asked for it. A huge portion of pll’s viewers are at a very impressionable age and I think this only reinforces what they’ve already been taught about victim blaming and slut shaming even if in the end the girls end up believing Hanna.
I’m pretty disturbed by how the writers of pretty little liars had hanna’s friends react to what happened between her and zach. I mean, they were victim blaming her?? this show is watched by young teenagers who are forming ideas and it’s teaching them to blame the victim and I’m really pissed off about this!!! I can’t be the only one!
i can’t wait to get my nips pierced because eventually i want to be a grandma that still has nipple piercings
